!. first, it wasn't a "problem". I never had, or ever have had, over heating issues. 2. I did this to help the engine dissapate heat when parked and turned off. I firmly believe this is when most of the heat related damage takes place. Not while moving or with the engine on.I removed some of the seal under the hood. I then bent the metal seal support flange down and forward. I can always bend it back and reinstall the piece of seal later. I've had this 'mod' for 2+ years with no ill effects. PS, any airloss around the cowl like that will have detrimental effects on aeroeffects... specifically front end lift will be generated. More specifically, the front end will have less downforce. The area at the windsheld and cowl area is a high pressure zone at speed. Any air in that area will leak into the engine bay and under the car decreasing aero effeiciency created by the front spoiler and flat under car panels.  (dunno why i come here anymore. :sigh:)
